Vaughn Wilson
Founder & Executive Director, The BLOC Ministries Inc.
Vaughn Wilson is a youth leader, program developer, and community advocate with more than 20 years of experience working with youth and young adults. Throughout his career, he has served in youth ministry and led youth and workforce development programs focused on education, employment, empowerment, and helping young people discover their purpose.
Having experienced foster care himself, Vaughn has a special heart for young people who may feel overlooked, unheard, or uncertain about their future. That experience, along with the legacy of his late brother Jason, affectionately known as "Jake," helped inspire the vision for Jake's Place. Jake was known for creating a space where young people knew they were welcome. If someone needed somewhere safe to crash, they knew they could always find a place at Jake's. Jake's Place carries that same spirit forward—a place of safety, belonging, support, and hope for young people who need it most.
Vaughn's vision also includes URISE, a workforce development initiative designed to connect young people with education, GED support, career preparation, job skills, and pathways into the workforce.
Inspired by his faith, Christian hip-hop, film, and creative culture, Vaughn is passionate about discovering the gifts inside young people and creating platforms where those gifts can be developed and used for Christ.
That passion ultimately became the foundation for The BLOC Ministries Inc.—a Christ-centered movement committed to giving young people a voice, a platform, a sense of belonging, and opportunities to lead, create, serve, and discover who God has called them to be.
For Vaughn, the mission is simple: meet young people where they are, help them discover what God placed inside of them, and give them a platform to use it.
The motto of The BLOC Ministries captures the heart of that mission:
"Reaching every youth, every city, one BLOC at a time."
